课程简介
“思想并非一只用以盛装的空罐子，而是一团亟待点燃的火焰” —— 古希腊哲学家普罗塔戈。
“深入经典、引导阅读”读书俱乐部每周一次，扎根每位同学的实际需求，对包括诸如莎士比亚戏剧在内的经典作品和诸如伍尔夫小说在内的现代名著展开深入浅出的分析，一方面帮助同学们深刻理解古今名家的思想，同时也引导同学们对作品形成具有个性的思考和理解。本着以学生为中心的理念，该系列所选的作品也会根据每个同学的兴趣和需求有所变化。
该课程通过研讨的形式，由讲师提出具有启发性的问题，帮助同学们发现和形成新视角、新思路，引导他们通过作品审视自身和现实世界。在主动学习的环境中，培养同学们形成充满人性光辉的思维、进而引导他们塑造受益终生的思维探索习惯。
该系列课程将有助于同学们获得如下技能和习惯：细致的观察力、精微的分析力、发现强而有力的论点、展开充满想象的对比、对不同观点的接纳力和包容力、以及胸怀世界的眼界和抱负 —— 这些都将为同学们成功应对这个复杂多变的世界打下坚实的基础。
Mr. Kemick老师：获奖诗人、记者、小说家。他的新书《I Am Herod》带领读者深入幕后、揭开全球最宏大的宗教事件之一的真相。他还出版过诗集《Caribou Run》。Mr. Kemick老师从事诗歌、纪实文学和小说三体创作，还在英加两国出版过不同的文选。获奖众多，包括两届国家优秀杂志文学奖。Mr. Kemick老师现在是卡尔加里大学庞巴迪学者、英语文学/创意写作在读博士。

Dr. Prusk老师现任教于阿尔伯塔大学英语文学和电影系，开设文学、写作和传媒各类人文课程。教书育人逾二十载，屡获文学院颁发的“杰出教学奖”殊荣。Dr. Prusk教学和科研齐头并进，专研莎士比亚、近代戏剧和儿童文学，频发著作。

课堂围绕文本精读展开，深入探究文本引发的各类人文问题。针对每个文本，课程要求同学们完成一篇相关的习作，讲师会为同学的习作提出建议。课程期间，讲师会定期向家长就学生的学习情况提出具有针对性的反馈。
