课程简介
本课程将带领学生穿越电影、走进文字，通过对电影、剧本和文学作品之间嬗变关系的分析激发并提高学生的批判思维、分析写作以及创意写作技能。
通过本课程，学生们将习得如何解析电影叙事、情景建构以及深层文意的影像转化； 同时学习影视剧本的创作模式，以及在从文字到影像的改变过程的增与减、取与舍、得与失；通过对经典电影场景与其源出作品相应章节的对比阅读来理解不同媒介在表意与达意之间的差异和特质；并将运用这些新习得的分析技能对他们日常使用的数字媒体展开批判式解析。
本课程会要求学生大量练习不同类型的写作任务：在解构叙事中提升论析与思辨技巧；在细读剧本、小说与场景中了解并掌握不同媒介叙事的差异与技巧；在对影视场景的深层次多维度解析中学习数字媒体与视觉化的艺术运用及技巧。同时，这种改编创作也能够提升学生自我表达的创新力、对核心信息的甄别与把握能力、以及叙事表达中的取舍策略。这些技能和技巧都将在学生们未来的大学申请、工作学习中帮助他们表达自己打动他人，事半功倍。
基础课程与进阶课程
本课程包含两个层次：基础课程和进阶课程。已完成基础课程学习的学员将被邀请入进阶课程学习。 进阶课程基于基础课程在深度和广度上都有全面提升，将通过一系列阅读、写作及电影赏析练习，更进一步加强对文学文本和视觉呈现的探讨。学生们将通过课堂学习及对应的课后巩固练习掌握更复杂、更有逻辑、更具创意性的思考和写作能力，并通过把短篇小说改编成微电影的创意写作项目使自己在进阶课程中学到的赏析、构思、写作和表达等多方面的能力得到综合性的练习和呈现。
Mr. Kemick老师：获奖诗人、记者、小说家。他的新书《I Am Herod》带领读者深入幕后、揭开全球最宏大的宗教事件之一的真相。他还出版过诗集《Caribou Run》。Mr. Kemick老师从事诗歌、纪实文学和小说三体创作，还在英加两国出版过不同的文选。获奖众多，包括两届国家优秀杂志文学奖。Mr. Kemick老师现在是卡尔加里大学庞巴迪学者、英语文学/创意写作在读博士。

Mr. Donovan是一位导演、剧作家、影视剧本创作者，既进行艺术创作，也参与艺术实践。他指导过二十多部话剧和电影，曾获得过最佳导演奖项，也经常亲身参与舞台与银幕表演。其最新的作品是将苏格兰剧作家Anthony Nielson的获奖剧作The Wonderful World of Dissocia改编成电影，并由其亲自执导、由2020 Citadel Theatre Young公司拍摄。在话剧和电影之余，Donovan还热衷于教学。自疫情以来，他一直从事在线教学并在中学任教。
